TIPS FOR A
SUCCESSFUL WEDDING

1. If possible, plan your wedding celebration close to the ceremony. In other words, try to avoid a long pause between the two as guests drive from one place to the other. You and your guests do not want to feel like you are missing out on the celebration!

2. Put disposable cameras on the tables. Guests will take "non-official" photos which will be very memorable. Circulate and take a few pictures yourself!

3. Of course, there are all kinds of wedding traditions, but don't forget that it is YOUR day. If something seems superfluous, too expensive, or just doesn't fit with what you want, let it go. Chances are, your guests won't even notice.

4. Try to plan for a day of rest before the big day!

5. Last but not least, Delegate! Planning a wedding is fun, but can be stressful if you try to do it all yourself. Be sure to ask for help from family and friends.

PLANNING YOUR
WEDDING CALENDAR

1. Six to twelve months ahead
To be sure that your guests reserve the date in time, send a "Save the date" card as soon as you have decided on the wedding date. This is especially important if it is a destination wedding or if you have a lot of out of town guests. Send your Save the dates six to eight months before the wedding.

2. Six months ahead
Begin planning the information for your invitations, including exact invite wording and guest list addresses. Will you be needing a map for the ceremony or reception? Decide on your wedding color palette.

3. Four months ahead
Order your invitations. Be sure to order extras to cover any error or omission on the guest list or returned mail. We recommend an extra 20%. Will you be needing additional envelopes for hand-printed addresses (to cover mistakes)?

4. Eight to twelve weeks ahead
Send your invitations. Be sure to have the full invitation weighed at the post office before sending, as inserts, paper weight and format may affect postage. Nothing is worse than having your invites returned because of insufficient postage!

5. Four weeks after
Send your thank you cards four to eight weeks after the wedding.
